General Information

Homework

Homework in 2nd grade plays a crucial role in reinforcing the skills and concepts learned in the classroom. It helps children develop a sense of responsibility, time management, and independent work habits. Completing homework allows students to practice and apply what they have learned, enhancing their understanding and retention of the material. Additionally, homework provides YOU with the opportunity to engage in your child's education, monitor their progress, and identify areas where they may need extra support. By encouraging consistent homework routines, you can help set the foundation for your kiddo's academic success.

I know that lives are busy and sometimes it just doesn't happen. I completely understand and do not expect perfection. If you ever feel like you need clarification on what is being asked for or the significance of something, please feel free to reach out and ask and I will be happy to help.

Snack

Bringing a healthy snack to school is essential for children's overall well-being and academic performance. Nutritious snacks provide the necessary energy and nutrients to keep kids focused and engaged throughout the day. They help maintain stable blood sugar levels, preventing energy crashes and promoting better concentration. Please be mindful when packing your kiddo's snack each day because I see the difference it makes! (Candy is not a snack...of course this only applies during our designated snack time, not lunch time)  Examples of healthy snack options include fruits, vegetables with hummus, yogurt, crackers, nuts, granola bars, etc. I say this to really help your kiddo and myself :)

Birthdays

We will always celebrate birthdays!!! If you would like to have your kiddo bring in a treat on their birthday to celebrate with the class and/or come in and celebrate with the class, this is welcomed! We usually celebrate at the end of the day for a short time and I can give further details when that special day is closer. We currently have 24 kids in our class and please try and give me advance notice if you would like to do something.
